I have two decades of experience as a practicing lawyer in Oregon. I utilize my skills and knowledge to solve problems for families, businesses, property owners, and employers in the mid-Willamette Valley. My legal practice emphasizes real property, business, estate planning, and dispute resolution. Because my clients’ legal needs do not always fit into one box, I practice in several areas of law in order to better serve them. You are welcome to call and discuss your case with me. I can then meet with you personally to go over your particular problem. I will review your options and present you with the information you need to make knowledgeable decisions about your legal issues. I am excited to help my clients reach the best outcome under the circumstances they face.

In addition to working with my clients, I enjoy serving my community by donating my time to non-profit organizations such as the Mid-Willamette Family YMCA, the Albany Public Schools Foundation, the Albany Historic Carousel & Museum, and several other smaller non-profit organizations. I am active in the Linn-Benton County Bar and various state bar groups. I also serve as the hearings officer for administrative law cases involving the Linn-Benton Housing Authority.

On my off time you can probably find me skiing, hiking, and camping in the Cascades or enjoying the Oregon Coast.

Who I am

My practice areas

Real Estate Law

Oregon real estate law encompasses an extremely wide range of legal issues. Because of the complexities inherent in this area of law, it’s a wise decision for any person with a real estate legal issue to contact a real estate lawyer.

Business Law

For over 130 years Weatherford Thompson has been representing small, medium, and large size businesses here in Linn and Benton County and throughout the entire state of Oregon.

Government Law

We are well-qualified to answer questions relating to a wide variety of areas - such as employment matters, election law issues, open meetings and records, use of school premises by outside groups, purchasing and contracting, school policy development, and citizen complaints.

Land Use

Zoning and land use laws come into play on every real estate project, regardless of size. If you are thinking about buying property or making improvements to property you already own, you need to understand and be aware of any zoning restrictions before you commit to anything.

Probate

Today, probate is used as a general term for the entire process of the administration of the estate of the deceased person, including those estates without wills, with court supervision.

Estate Planning

Our trusts and estates attorneys provide a full range of services to individual clients, including sophisticated tax and estate planning; administration of estates and trusts; drafting wills, trusts, business and marital agreements; and formation and administration of charitable entities.
