He and his wife relocated to Virginia so Scott could attend Regent University School of Law. He spent a significant amount of time serving on Law Review, ultimately becoming the Executive Editor. His law schools studies emphasized tax law and estate planning courses. Scott clerked for Weatherford Thompson between law school semesters before graduating with his J.D. in 2014.

Scott is a fifth generation descendant from the firm’s founder J.K. Weatherford and will continue the tradition of having a descendant of the Weatherford family on staff since the firm’s founding in 1875. He and his family are glad to be back in Oregon where they can once again enjoy attending Beaver football games, camping, fishing, and hunting.
