Blake was born and raised in Northern Utah. He attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, where he studied business management. Blake took a break from his education to serve a two-year religious mission in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he learned to speak Haitian Creole. Afterward, Blake married his wife Kristin, and they now have two energetic children.
Blake and his wife relocated to the Pacific Northwest so Blake could attend law school at the University of Oregon. Blake participated heavily in the Moot Court program, ultimately serving as the program director. During this time, he competed at multiple national appellate competitions focused on tax and business law.
During law school Blake clerked at the Oregon Department of Justice, Labor and Employment Division. He later clerked for Weatherford Thompson before graduating with his J.D. in 2010. He became a full time associate for Weatherford Thompson later that year. Blake and his family love living in the Willamette Valley and enjoy spending time on the coast. Blake enjoys running, cooking, football, softball, and spending time with his family.
